Musings from motherhood
Twenty-five weeks in this journey with you. A journey that is so new to me, but at the same time feels very natural. Hormones are racing through my body. My feelings are changing day by day, sometimes minute by minute.
All of a sudden my worried mind takes over;
what if something happens to you,
what if I can’t give you what you need,
what if I won’t have enough work after maternity leave.
But then you give that little kick and the calmness returns.
All those belly rubs, the comforting hugs. My body deserves to be taken care of. It is growing, it is transforming and I am discovering a new beauty. I still remember the days I felt uncomfortable in my own skin and feel sorry for being so hard on myself. Thankful for my body that is strong enough to carry you, my daughter.
My focus is slowly shifting to motherhood. I am telling myself to let creativity flow naturally. Don’t want to rush. Need to slow down. I want to stay close to the heart even though it might take more time. However time is precious in today’s fast paced world. But why hold on to that thought? Wouldn’t life be just as good if I take the time I need?
